El tiempo inventó su relojero”, nos dice Juan Gelman en un verso inteligente y memorable. Lo que me llevó a pensar que el tiempo no es invento del hombre sino al revés porque en el principio de los tiempos el tiempo se vio muy solo en el mundo sin nadie que viera o temiera su poder. De modo que tuvo que crear criaturas que lo midieran y se ajustaran a sus ritmos, reglas y condiciones. Y así el tiempo creó primero a Dios, luego al espacio y finalmente al hombre.

Anoche soné con una palabra que no está en el diccionario. Eutevia, que supuestamente significa saber algo sin saber que se sabe, es decir, un conocimiento inconsciente o algo así. Esta mañana busqué en Google y lo único que me salió fue una señora mayor que vive en Pensacola y que se llama así. La única explicación que encuentro a este sueño tan raro (y a otros que he tenido esta semana) es que desde hace unos días estoy tomando leche de soya. La soya es saludable para el cuerpo pero dañina para el cerebro.
“You spray the soil, not the leaves”, I tell you, as you water the seedlings in the pots by the window and we discuss dystopian literature. “My favorite dystopian novel is ‘Lord of the Flies’,” you say. I look at you and ask you if you would like some tea. “I’m adding sugar this time, just a bit.” You nod your head and inspect one of the pots.
“I agree. It’s a basic human story. Humanity at its core. It probably is the most universal dystopian novel,” I finally say as I heat up the water for the tea.
“Is it time to replant these seedlings? Are they ready to be planted outside in the garden?”
“I’m not sure. Will they survive?”, I reply and hand you a cup of warm tea.
“Let’s wait then. They’re safe inside. So many bugs out there.”
